What in the world is in Marfa, TX?

Are you guys going to Big Bend National Park?
Look into Siver City in NM. This is a highland area in New Mexico next to Gila National Park. It is supposed to be pretty nice and the temperatures are mild in the Summer compared to what you will see in NM and AZ this time of the yr.
